Pregnancy, Nursing & Children

Many herbal preparations are contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Do not use our products if you are pregnant, trying to become pregnant, or nursing without first consulting your OB/GYN or midwife. Most of our products are intended for adults only. Some individuals may be sensitive or allergic to specific plants, pollen families, or extraction solvents (such as alcohol). If you have known plant allergies — especially to the Asteraceae/daisy family, nightshades, or alliums — review ingredients carefully and consult an allergist if unsure. Discontinue use and seek medical attention if you experience any allergic reaction.

A Note on Alcohol-Based Preparations

Most of our tinctures contain ethyl alcohol (ethanol) as the extracting solvent, typically between 40–60% ABV.

Do not use alcohol-based tinctures if you are in recovery, have liver disease, or are taking Antabuse (disulfiram).

Alcohol-based tinctures can be evaporated by adding the dose to a small amount of near-boiling water and allowing it to cool before drinking, which reduces but does not eliminate alcohol content.

Glycerin or vinegar-based alternatives may be more appropriate for those who cannot consume alcohol.
