At Browning Hollow, we grow exclusively from open-pollinated, non-hybrid, untreated heirloom varieties — the same strains that nourished communities for generations before industrial agriculture rewrote the playbook.

Modern hybridized and genetically modified seeds are engineered for yield, shelf life, and uniformity — not for the dense, complex phytochemical profiles that make a plant medicinally potent. When a seed is crossed, treated with fungicides, or coated with systemic pesticides, something irreplaceable is lost at the cellular level. The plant grows, but it's a diminished version of what nature intended.
